The new Ruhr
Metropolis is located in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, in the
western part of the country. Since 1998 efforts have been taken to combine
forces for
Ruhr wide activities to promote tourism in the region. The
umbrella organisation “Ruhr Tourismus” is working with 53 cities and towns on
product development, marketing and promotions.
